Căn cứ vào các chính sách phát triển du lịch bền vững trên thế giới, nhiều biện pháp tự
điều chỉnh nhằm đạt đến sự bền vững được các nhà nghiên cứu đưa ra như gắn nhãn sinh thái, quản lý năng lượng, quản lý chất thải… Khu dự trữ sinh quyển (DTSQ) thế giới Cát Bà đã áp dụng nhiều biện pháp kể trên để đảm bảo hoạt động du lịch bền vững bao gồm quản lý nguồn nước, chất thải, các biện pháp giáo dục và đào tạo ý thức bảo vệ môi trường… Một trong những biện pháp được Cát Bà áp dụng đầu tiên trong các khu dự trữ sinh quyển là gắn nhãn sinh quyển. Biện pháp này đã mang lại những hiệu quả tích cực và có thể trở thành một bài học kinh nghiệm điển hình cho các khu du lịch khác phát triển du lịch theo hướng bền vững.

World Biosphere Reserve Cat Ba have adopted many solutions mentioned above to ensure sustainable tourism practices. It includes water resources management, waste, solutions to educate and train the sense of environmental protection…. Cat Ba is the fist place applied biosphere labeled. This solution has brought positive results and it can become a typical lessons for other tourist areas develop towards sustainability.
