Hồng Đức quốc âm thi tập là một cột mốc lớn trong sự phát triển của văn học tiếng Việt ở thế kỷ XV. Xu hướng dân tộc hóa trong nỗ lực xây dựng một lối thơ Việt Nam được thể hiện rõ nét ở mảng thơ vịnh cảnh trong Hồng Đức quốc âm thi tập. Thơ vịnh cảnh vẫn tiếp tục những nội dung truyền thống với nhiều thi liệu có sẵn. Tuy nhiên, các tác giả đã vượt lên trên những công thức, ước lệ của thơ ca cổ để phản ánh cuộc sống chân thực và sinh động. Bên cạnh đó, việc tiếp tục thử nghiệm câu thơ lục ngôn xen thất ngôn đã giúp cho việc miêu tả, biểu đạt cảm xúc trở nên linh hoạt, mới mẻ, ít nhiều giảm tính sáo mòn, công thức vốn có của tập thơ.
Hồng Đức quốc âm thi tập is a major milestone in the development of Vietnamese literature in the 15th century. The trend of nationalization in the effort to build a Vietnamese poetic style is clearly shown in the poetic scene of Hong Duc quoc am thi tap. Landscape poetry still continues its traditional content with many available poetic materials. However, the authors have gone beyond the formulas and conventions of ancient poetry to reflect true and vivid life. Besides, continuing to experiment with six-word verses interspersed with seven-word verses has helped the description and expression of emotions become flexible and new, reducing the inherent cliche and formula of the poetry collection.
